Tour Diary pt 2: Kansas, Missourri, Etc.

Hey Whiskey Kids!

We piled into the van, and headed into the great white north at 2 AM on Tuesday night. After a not so bad 11 hours or so, we landed in Emporia, Kansas. Now this is a nice little town, we enjoyed shoppin at Dick's Business Equipment and the Handy-Go-Down thrift emporium. Nice folks, but misleading names.
The Granada Theatre is all renovated and stuff, really fancy like. Just look at this shit:


A nice turnout with a whole mess o' kiddos. We played a clean set of non-offensive or drug related tunes, which would have lasted only about 3 minutes, till we realized that we could just change "cocaine" to "propane", which worked out purty good.

Postin' this from a nice little dive in Kansas City, MO called Davey's Uptown. So far, no stabbins, no shootins, and no hookers, so we're pretty ready for everything to get started.

Tour Diary: Episode 1 (The prequel)

Tyin up some loose ends before we hit the road. We're gonna have a whole bunch of fancy new merchandise for sale soon. Shot glasses, trucker hats maybe, coozies, all kinda shit.
Basically, we gotta load up with all sorts of stuff, so's to take advantage of capitalism and stuff like that.

Our first gig in Kansas should be real doozy. We're driving straight from from the Hole in the Wall to the Granada Theatre in Emporia, with sound check at 3:45. Also, it's a United Way benefit, and there's no cursin allowed, nor drug references. At least not clear drug references. Luckily it's gonna be fancy as fuck, with free food and hotel rooms and no brown M&Ms. Not a bad way to get started.

Kansas Tour is for real, y'all

The Biz has never been more excited. After our next show at Hole in the Wall, the members of Whiskey Business will pile into a van and proceed to drive straight through the night to Kansas, where amazing wonders await us, courtesy of our good friends, and Tour-Mates the White Ghost Shivers.

Tonight, Whiskey Business is gonna be rockin it out at the Parish to benefit the Gulf Coast Relief Fund. Come out and win some great prizes, like one night with Skwerl, anything goes. Anything.

Clyde and Clem do charity work!

Me and Clem has learned an important lesson in the last few weeks: That doin' charity work is fufillin, even if it ain't ordered by the county courts.

We played us a benefit show in San Marcos to benefit the youths who is at risk of growin up rotten. It was wildly successful, and thankfully, with the bar bein' 21 and up, none of them youths showed up to spoil our fun.

Now this monday, we're goin to the Parish on 6th street to play us up some music what to benefit that there oil spill in the Gulf of Texas. Now, originally I warn't convinced there was a problem with oil in the gulf. I figured that we could just heat that there oil up, and get our shrimp a fryin' before we even fish 'em up, but nows I learned to the contrary that it's real ecologic deesaster, and I think we should maybe try to help out. You should come to that one, it's gonna be a real doozy.

Friday's show at Roadhouse Rags

Hey all you drunken revelers!

Whiskey Business is headin' down to Roadhouse Rags on Friday to play the worst damn show in the history of music. Flatcar Rattlers are gonna be there too, so there's probably a small cover charge, but you can bring in your own liquor, so it's worth it.

We'll be recorifyin' the whole damn show, and you'll be able to purchase the recording for a nominal fee, via these nifty mp3 download cards we're slangin' .

So bring a bottle of your favorite moonshine and git on out there with us! Time's a wastin'! Plus, we'll be revealin all the details of the protest and assorted SouthBy goodness.

SXSW Madness, Episode 1

Well lick my balls and call me your granny, it's that time of year again!

Clyde and Clem love South by Southwest. Between gettin' screwed out of a showcase, hated on by British hipsters, and spat on by the police, it just ain't springtime in Austin, TX without it.

This year we're getting started early with some super-duper excitin' shit during Interactive, which is like SXSW for people who do compu-nets or somethin. Anyhow, there's a ton of nerds here in town, and we plan to bilk 'em for all they're worth.

First up, we're gonna be performin' at Club Deville tonight, early-times. 9:45 is when we commence, so git there early and be drunk already, just to be safe.

Tomorrow, we're gonna be closing out the night at Pastries and Pasties 2010, The Burlesque Show Cupcake Cookoff Bluegrass Extravaganza. I know the sheer thought hurts your brain and stimulates your nether regions. This one's free for badge holders, and $15 for everyone else, except for us, cause we're the band and we get in for free. Free drinks too, probably.

We'll be announcin' some exciting renegade shows during the week, most likely on S. Congress and the Pedestrian Bridge, just for fun.

I regret to inform you all that the Anti-Defamation League, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, The Christian Coalition and the 700 club have all teamed up to oppose Clyde and Clem during SXSW. Keep an eye out for these jerks during the week.
